The New Covenant
The New Covenant with the house of Israel, and for the born again Gentiles, is, that man will no more teach his brother, no more teach his neighbor, saying, “know the Lord” because they shall ALL Know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. Why, How, because God said, “I”, will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33-34. This is one of the reasons why Jesus was sent, to restore the line of communication from the creator to His most prized possession, us.
This is not done by memorizing verses of scripture, this just commits them to memory, it does not write it, put it, IN, where it needs to be.
Ink on the pages, that which is written, a holy writ, is what scripture is, it has a limited impact. The letter killeth, because that which is written is processed by our minds (leaning on our own understanding), this is a natural process, of the “natural man”. Scripture, a holy writ, because it came from the mouth of God, hance “All scripture, is given by inspiration of God,…”. God breathed/spoken, words from His mouth, BEFORE it was written down, couldn’t have been written, unless it was first spoken, by God.
Scripture, a holy writ, is what the prophets/apostles heard, received from the Spirit of God, they received a, “Word from God”, concerning many different topics, matters. Then at a later date, it was written down, the Words spoken by Him, and by those He chose, and the words that were written down, were concerning the same topics, matters, but the words on the pages, because of us using our mental reasoning, make the Word of God of none effect. BUT, if, like Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, etc., we let God write these things in our hearts, and speak them with the wisdom that only the Spirit can bring with the Words of God, it is first, pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy, then is it quickening, powerful, able to show us the TRUE thoughts and intentions of our own hearts, then and only then, when it comes from the Spirit of truth, shows us, because the Word, from the mouth of God, is as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. This is why Jesus said that we must live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
I hope and pray that you have ears to hear. Unless we significantly, dramatically, reduce the amount of world, that IS in our lives, by Asking, Seeking, and Knocking, then listening and obeying what we hear from the Spirit, letting that transform us by renewing our mind, letting that conform us to the likeness of the Son, this world is going to get a lot worse, a lot faster. There are people out there that can be turned. We as a Body are weak and this is how we will grow stronger, this is how the love of God is manifested through us to the world.
The Word of God is MUCH more than ink on the pages of our Bibles.
In the beginning was the Word
The Word was with God
The Word WAS God
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.
In Him was life
and the life was the light of men.
God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life
The worlds were framed by the Word of God
So shall my Word be, that comes out of my mouth, IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PLEASE, AND IT WILL PROSPER IN THE THING WHERETO I SEND IT. Mark 4:20
The Word of God endures forever; and this is the Word by which the gospel is preached unto you.
It was written on the hearts of the disciples, preached, then written down.
God was found of a nation that was NOT looking for Him, through the New Covenant, Jeremiah 31:33-34; 2nd Corinthians 3:3 is an example that states this; Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. No books/scrolls were being read from, it was/is because of what the Spirit of truth was/is doing.
The same power, God’s spoken Word, the same thing that framed the world’s, the same thing that brought life to Adam, is the same thing that brought life back to your dead spirit. THIS, is what sets true Christians/Christianity, apart from religion, God’s Words, specifically from His mouth, by His Spirit.
If you Know Jesus, it is ONLY because you heard the Word of God, that He testified of his Son, John 15:26. God gave us proof, evidence, of His Son, this proof, evidence, is discernable ONLY when it comes from the Spirit, TO, our reborn spirit. When a person preaches the gospel, and the hearer’s heart is not hardened, and is able to receive, the Spirit testifies of what is being “foolishly preached” by man, and if you can receive this testimony, that God has testified of his Son, it quickens your spirit, thus you are reborn. James 1:18, Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth; this is by the grace of God.
Because of the traditions of men, religion, has made the Word of God of none effect. The Greek word for tradition in Mark 7:13 is paradosis, which means transmission! The Word of God has been made of none effect because man has relied on going to school to learn from past theologians and what they think, instead of realizing that Christ is on the inside of them waiting to teach every man everything needed to complete God’s will for their life.
Paul spoke this to the Galatians, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Here is another characteristic of the Word’s from the mouth of God that man cannot recreate. The hearing of faith? It’s not that hard to see, understand, except for the doctrine that has been instilled in you that faith is trust, faith enables trust, but it is not the same thing as trust in God.
Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing the Word of God? Now faith is substance, (before birth) of things hoped for, evidence, (after death) of things not seen. Hearing Word’s from the mouth of God are the same as seeing, holding evidence of something someone is proclaiming.
Paul also asked, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Paul was only able to do what he did because he did only what he heard the Spirit of Christ showed Him. Jesus was our example.
Jesus was endued with the Holy Spirit, without measure, that is different from us. Jesus said that he only did what He heard from the Father.
John 5:19, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 5:30, I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.
John 12:49, For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, AND what I should speak.
John 14:10, Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. There are 3 that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these 3 are one.
This is why Jesus said that we must live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Look at what Jesus told his disciples
John 16:12-15, I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you; because He goes to His Father…
He that believes on Me, as the scriptures has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this He spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was; In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God…
Mark 16:19-20, So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God (glorified). And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word, with signs following. Amen.
Ephesians 1:20, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand (glorified) in the heavenly places,
Wrought; energeō, to be active
What was made active, AFTER Christ was sat at the right hand of God?
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
How is one enlightened? That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: His knowledge, a.k.a. God’s Word, from His mouth. 1st Corinthians 1:30, But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
The word revelation in Ephesians 1:17 means disclosure, what the Holy Spirit, Spirit of truth, Spirit of wisdom, would “reveal” to you. Stop thinking that revelation only means some sort of spiritual manifestation.
1st John 5:1-10, Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith (which comes by hearing Word’s from the mouth of God). Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? How is it that you believe in Jesus? Read on. Keep this in mind while you read. In verses 6-8, the word’s record and witness mean, to be a witness. In verses 9 and 10 the same words mean evidence given. Remember faith is evidence of things not seen and it comes by hearing the Word’s of God.
Testimony Concerning the Son of God
6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. 9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
That is how and why you believe in a man that you have never seen, because you were able to receive the testimony that God gave of His Son, you have the evidence given, witness, Word of God on the inside of you. Now look at how we are to learn everything else.
1st Corinthians 1:4-7, I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as (in the same way) the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
James 1:18-22, Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Romans 1:16-17, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. By every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Walking by faith and walking by the Spirit is saying the samething. Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God and the Spirit brings the Word.
The Natural Man
As far as I know most Christians believe that the natural man, as spoken of in 1st Corinthians 2:14, is a man that is not saved. This is not completely true. The “natural”, man is the part of man whence things come naturally, automatic, the part of man that is not born again, but the part of man that exists before and after receiving salvation knowledge concerning Jesus Christ. “But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
The Greek word that was used in 1st Cor. 2:14 for, “the natural”, was, G5591 – psuchikos (psoo-khee-kos’), and it means: sensitive, that is, animate (in distinction on the one hand from G4152, which is the higher or renovated nature; and on the other from G5446, which is the lower or bestial nature): (instinctual)
G5590 – psuchē , psoo-khay’: breath, that is, (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only;
G4152 – pneumatikos, phyoo-mat-ik-os’: non-carnal, that is, (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious:
G5446 – phusikos, foo-see-kos’ “physical”, that is, (by implication) instinctive: – natural.
God is talking about our 5 senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and touch.
The natural man consists of the 5 senses, this is how you learn. For the first, possibly 20+ years of your life, you spend a very large amount of time in a classroom, LISTENING and SEEING, in tandem, a lot of information. The information that is taken in through them, processed by the mind, and thus making this the way the knowledge base grows, a. k. a., the learning process, the way we “become smarter”. This process affects the development of our personality, our will, our emotions, who we become. Too back up the fact that “the natural man” is the 5 senses, the mind, etc…, back up to verses 8 and 9. 1st Corinthians 2:8-9, Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. They were not listening to God, through the one God sent, Jesus, or Himself, through the Spirit or Prophets, they were leaning on their own understanding. Isaiah 64:4, For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Sight and sound and the ability to reason, “understand”, through what we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, separates us from lower forms of animals, which live by “instinct”. We have the ability to learn through the information that our 5 senses take in, automatically, and sight and sound are the 2 dominant senses of the majority of people. This is the process by which we grow “smarter”, and smarter only means that some learn information easier, faster and retain it better, longer than others. Some have issues with not being able to comprehend and process the information that they are being told, reading, seeing, etc., as well or as easy as others. Certain parts of society has come up with a label for that kind of person, “stupid” or “dumb”.
As I said, there are two senses that are dominant over the others, in the way that they take in more information, data, than the others, they are sight and sound, through the eyes and the ears. From birth they have been instrumental in your learning process, the growing of your knowledge base. If you were blind and deaf, from birth, you would be greatly, disadvantaged in learning. You would not have heard your parents, siblings, grandparents, etc., voices. You would not know what your parents looked like. You would not have been able to hear teachers teach you how to recognize letters, by sight, seeing them on cards, on blackboards. You would not have learned to say those letters by hearing the teacher, or others, say, sound out, those letters. You would not have learned to write those letters, thus learning how to form words, learning to speak the words, turn the words into sentences, which leads to communication, reading, which which expands, grows, your knowledge base by taking in more information by what you, SEE and HEAR.
You wouldn’t have learned to recognize numbers, thus learning about math, science, health, english, etc… ALL by teachers, through what you saw with your eyes and heard with your ears, that came from the mouths of teachers, what they wrote on blackboards, what you read in textbooks, saw on overhead projectors, the world wide web, etc. Through repetition and practice you retain what we have heard, seen, and experienced.
ALL of those and more are developed through what we experience through our 5 senses.
ALL, the information is processed by the mind, thus making our mind, carnal, and carnal, in this sense means, as pertaining to the flesh, what comes through the “natural man”.
Again, you have probably never even thought about this whole process. It is completely automatic, natural, we don’t give this process a second thought, we don’t have to start it up, “make” it do it’s thing, “it” just happens. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God. “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen … Taking in the words with our eyes, with the knowledge we have retained and using some kind of special “formula” to discern the meaning of what you are reading, is leaning on your own understanding or the understanding of the “higher” educated? Yet, because we have been told that our Bibles are the Word of God, we think all we need to do is read it, the same way we have every other book that we have read, why not, it is only natural. YES, the words on the pages came from God, but the words on the pages are not with the complete understanding, context, and truth, as when they came/come, from His mouth, through His Holy Spirit, to us. This is what is missing from the body today.
Whether you like it or not, believe it or not, most of us are leaning on our own understanding, a mentally put together understanding of God, and what He wants from us by reading words on the pages of a book, because it is natural, to do it this way, after all, this is how we become educated and we highly prize education. Galatians 3:2-3, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? If you
Turning the mind (our natural way of discernment) off, discarding a lot of other things that are done from the flesh, the carnal mind, the natural man, to be able to learn, to hear that still small voice is NOT NATURAL, but this is our new “nature”. We have been told or come to the conclusion, for ourselves that God doesn’t “speak” to anyone any more (receive from Him), that’s why He gave us the “printed word”, “it, the word, explains itself”, NO, the Word/s, from His mouth ARE wisdom and knowledge. No one has shown us what the “natural man” truely is and how much of our lives, our normal daily routines, come from this process, and that the natural man does not receive the things of God. For to be carnally minded is death (to the spiritual mind). Man has become very reliant, confident, even prideful in his own intelligence. This is what we believe is necessary to have a “happier” life, more education, means a better life, NOT, a title has been put on this way of life to make it appealing, The American Dream.
For 13 of our first 18 years we are in school developing, to a very high degree of reliability, the very thing that cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, the one thing that is in opposition to what God has told us He has given us to guide us into all truth, His Spirit. Galatians 5:17, For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: (they are both active in the same body) and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Are you getting it, do you understand?
Because God has limited Himself in our lives, doesn’t force Himself in our lives, this is of His own will, He needs us to cooperate with Him, to learn from Him, through His Spirit and our spirit, what is and is not available to us, now, in this life, to continue, the ministry/Word of reconciliation. He didn’t just free all the Hebrews from slavery, Moses had to be obedient, do and say what God told Him to do and say; and when Moses obeyed, it allowed God to work. It is the same with every other person in the bible. The only thing He has done without us is creation, “God said”, Genesis 1:1-31. We are doing Christianity on our own, in our own way, “leaning on our own understanding”, and, All we, like sheep, have gone astray, we have turned, every one of us, to his own way, the carnal mind, the flesh, the natural man. This is why we as a body of Christ cannot ALL speak the same things, we are not of the same mind, we are not all of the same judgment.
Pay very close attention to these verses, 1st Corinthians 2:6-8, Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (Hear this and understand), But, as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Paul is saying this because of what the Hebrews had done, used their eyes, ears, and their mentally put together understanding, to write down and teach each others what they thought they ought to be doing and how to do it, 600+ rules based off of, 10 (written) commandments, thus following the traditions and doctrines of men, not listening to the still small voice itself, or the words of the one’s that had received a word from the Lord and passed His word on, it usually was not received, because it was spiritually discerned. They could not hear, the word. John 8:37, 43.
The bible is Holy scripture, that which is written down.
The Word of God, Hebrews 4:12, is what was spoken/inspired by God’s Spirit, into men, written on their hearts, spoken by these men, and then written down at a later time and date. For the words on the pages in the bible, scripture, to become, “alive and powerful” in us, the Holy Spirit needs to confirm, affirm, corroborate, verify, give you CORRECT understanding of, what you are reading or hearing.
For the Holy Spirit to confirm, affirm, establish, etc, what you are reading you must, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Ask, Seek, and Knock.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Ask, Seek, and Knock.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. Ask, Seek, and Knock.
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Ask, Seek, and Knock.
1st Corinthians 1:19, For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
From G4920; mentally put (or putting) together, that is, sagacious: – prudent.
The following is what it is going to take to bring the presence of the Lord to this earth, so that Matthew 16 15:18 and John 14:12 will come to pass again.
After coming to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, that He is the Savior of the world, and by, coming to the knowledge of, I purposefully mean to say, after it was shown, given to you, that He is, the Son of God, there is a small matter that needs to be dealt with, a small requirement that needs to be met in order to become a disciple of Christ, it is mentioned 7 times in 4 epistles.
Matthew 10:36-39, And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Matthew 16:24-26, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Mark 8:34-37, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Christ was speaking of gaining the whole world, what about the very small piece we have been programed to and are so frantically and stubbornly working to hold on to? Commit yourself to God, His ways, and your plans will succeed, because then they will be His plans.
Luke 9:23, And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?
Luke 14:27, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:33, So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
John 12:24-26, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: (smack dab in the middle of the will of God) if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Matthew 7:21-23, Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. I am in no way trying to make you think that you are not saved, but if this gets you to go deeper, seek more guidance, learn of greater things, to have and know everything that God wants, YOU, to have and Know to complete your part of His will for your life in the continuance for the “Word of reconciliation”, then so be it.
