The Mystery of the Kingdom of God

The Mystery

You know I was about to type this statement, “God has given me some knowledge, knowledge that I can see how important it is.  But I don’t know why He has entrusted, given it to me to…”  Then I was given this, “the knowledge that I have given you is not more important than the knowledge of Jesus.”

The knowledge that He has given me, after being born again, is the knowledge of how we were and still can, apply the living Christ to/in our lives.  Colossians 1:27 says, To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:  Christ is in YOU.

The Mystery of the Gospel Revealed

Ephesians 3:1-11

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)  Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.  Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

The Greek word for mystery is mustērion, pronounced: moos-tay’-ree-on, and it means, (to shut the mouth); a secret or “mystery” (through the idea of silence imposed by initiation into religious rites).  Doesn’t make a whole lot of since does it.  To shut the mouth, through the idea of silence.

To put it plainly, Paul is talking about the Word of God, it is, the mystery of the kingdom of God, as spoken of in Mark 4:11.  What is Mark talking about there?  The Word of God.  That which framed the worlds, that which is alive and powerful, powerful enough to divide the soul from the spirit, and of the joints and the marrow.  That which effectually works IN those who believe.  1st Thessalonians 2:13, For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe

Here is a verse that many will not see in their bibles because of the version they read.  1st John 5:7, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  The Word of God bears witness.  The Greek word here is martureō , pronounced, mar-too-reh’-o; and it means, to be a witness, that is, testify.  The order in which the three are listed is not by chance, the Father, speaks the Word, and the Holy Ghost reveals.  Before you get all knotted up, you are going to need to keep an open heart here.  Let’s look at a few other scriptures.

John 1:1-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed (spoke) into his nostrils the breath of life (His Word); and man became a living soul.

John 1:14

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Jesus said that He only did/said what He saw the Father do or told Jesus to say.  He said He could do NOTHING of himself.

John 3:11, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.  Remember that I showed you how the Word bears witness?  The Greek word for testify in that verse is martueo, to be a witness.  Well, the word witness, in that verse is from the Greek word marturia, mar-too-ree’-ah; and it means, evidence given.  Notice that the verse says WE, speak that we do know, and testify that WE have seen; and you receive not OUR witness; evidence given.

John 3:34, For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

John 5:25, For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

John 5:32, There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.

John 5:37, And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

John 14:10, Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  The Father’s Word is his power, through Him ALL things were made, without him was not anything made, that was made; it does the work.  The Word became flesh.  The Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost are ONE!

In John 3:32 it says, And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

John 8:18, I am one that bear witness of myself, (because he speaks the Words of God and they Word beareth witness) and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

John 6:63, It is the spirit that quickeneth (the Spirit brings the Word to us, remember they are ONE); the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

John 8:37, I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

John 8:43, Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

This, the hearing of the Father’s voice/Word, for believers, is what God was talking about through the New Covenant, Jeremiah 31:33-34,

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.  And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

God, because of His love, mercy, and graciousness, sent his Son Jesus to die for us, to be the propitiation for our sins, so that we could, might be able to “hear”, receive from him again, I say again because Adam could.  And those that “hear”, receive a Word concerning the testimony of his Son, are born again.

In the same way that Adam was given life, became a living soul, by God’s Word, we are born again.  This is what sets Christianity apart from ALL religions, because in order for one to Know God, one must hear/receive a Word from the Spirit of God/wisdom/truth, concerning his Son, Jesus.  You do not audibly hear this Word, you may not even realize that you have received such a thing from God.  It is like you are uploaded with understanding, knowledge, wisdom, about a specific matter or topic.

Do you really think, you convinced yourself, of the truth that Jesus is the Son of God, having never even seen Him?, that He is the propitiation for our sins, based off of the auditory information that you heard from another person, or because of the words on the pages of a book?  NO, you did not.  You believed because of what God has given us, because of the way He set it up to be, His sheep hear His voice.

John 10:14, I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:27, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Remember how it says, In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God…, the Word became flesh…, well in John 17:5 this is what Jesus prayed, And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.  And in Ephesians 1:20 it says, Which he wrought (to be active) in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places;  What did God make active?  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  HIS WORD!

Paul prayed that the Spirit of wisdom, would give the believers in Ephesus revelation, in the knowledge of Him, the Holy Spirit would disclose to them God’s wisdom, the hidden wisdom of God, so that the revelations of knowledge would

open the eyes of their understanding and they might Know,

what is the hope of his calling,

what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

God made this available to those that hear the Good Shepherds voice, because his voice speaks the Words of God, and God made this active, effectual, when He raised the Good Shepherd from the dead and sat Him at His right hand.  Christ is in us!  We have not been quiet enough, diligent enough, committed enough, to God, to receive.

This is how Christ is IN US, Jesus was/IS the Word, the Word is how you Know about Jesus, the Word is life and the life is the light of men, and the Word is ABSOLUTE truth.

Our bible is Holy Scripture, it is written/recorded from, WHAT WAS INSPIRED BY GOD.  When “you” read and study, that is Theology, a man made/devised way of knowing ABOUT God, coming to a mental ascent about God.  His Word is how we Know Him.  The Word bears witness, not the ink.

2nd Corinthians 3:3, Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (Jeremiah 31:33)

2nd Corinthians 3:6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.  The same thing that was received of the ministers, but not WHEN they were ministers, is received of the people,

1st Thessalonians 2:13, For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

1st John 5:9-10, If we receive the witness of men, (the foolishness of preaching) the witness of God (the Word, through the testifying/revealings of the Spirit) is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his SonHe that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

LISTEN!  God gave us proof, evidence of His Son, even after death, it comes, ONLY, through his Word, that has come from His mouth, which endures for ever.

Philippians 1:29, For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Romans 12:3, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Ephesians 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Romans 4:16, Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed;…  Faith is one of the riches of God’s grace;

Ephesians 2:7, That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

NOW FAITH IS————SUBSTANCE OF THINGS HOPED FOR

EVIDENCE OF THINGS NOT SEEN.  FAITH COMETH BY HEARING (receiving) THE HEARING (receiving) BY, THE WORD OF GOD.  Faith is NOT trusting what you read to be true, God says that faith IS EVIDENCE, but this EVIDENCE comes only from hearing Words from His mouth.

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

This is how you were born again, it is in the same way, from the same thing, that God breathed into the nostrils of Adam, to bring him to LIFE.  You were a sheep, lost, going your own way, and you heard the Shepherds voice, and the Shepherd only speaks that which He hears.  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1st John 2:20, But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1st John 2:27, But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth (the Word), and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

We have missed so much because of the slight of hand of the devil and the pride of life, that man has in his own knowledge, through education/studying, using is mental abilities, when we should have been quiet and still all along, seeking first the kingdom of God,

And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.”  Mark 4:11-12.  How are we forgiven, to hear the truth/evidence/testimony of what God did for us in Christ.

Isaiah 64:4, For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

Matthew 16:15-17, He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.  And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

John 6:63, It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

1st Peter 1:23, Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1st Peter 1:25, But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. Isaiah 55:8-11, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. (Because we are not listening to His voice)  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
