The New Covenant/The Natural Man

The New Covenant

The New Covenant with the house of Israel, and for the born again Gentiles, is, that man will no more teach his brother, no more teach his neighbor, saying, “know the Lord” because they shall ALL Know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.  Why, How, because God said, “I”, will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Jeremiah 31:33-34.  This is one of the reasons why Jesus was sent, to restore the line of communication from the creator to His most prized possession, us.

This is not done by memorizing verses of scripture, this just commits them to memory, it does not write it, put it, IN, where it needs to be.

Ink on the pages, that which is written, a holy writ, is what scripture is, it has a limited impact.  The letter killeth, because that which is written is processed by our minds (leaning on our own understanding), this is a natural process, of the “natural man”.  Scripture, a holy writ, because it came from the mouth of God, hance “All scripture, is given by inspiration of God,…”.  God breathed/spoken, words from His mouth, BEFORE it was written down, couldn’t have been written, unless it was first spoken, by God.

Scripture, a holy writ, is what the prophets/apostles heard, received from the Spirit of God, they received a, “Word from God”, concerning many different topics, matters.  Then at a later date, it was written down, the Words spoken by Him, and by those He chose, and the words that were written down, were concerning the same topics, matters, but the words on the pages, because of us using our mental reasoning, make the Word of God of none effect.  BUT, if, like Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, etc., we let God write these things in our hearts, and speak them with the wisdom that only the Spirit can bring with the Words of God, it is first, pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy, then is it quickening, powerful, able to show us the TRUE thoughts and intentions of our own hearts, then and only then, when it comes from the Spirit of truth, shows us, because the Word, from the mouth of God, is as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my Word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  This is why Jesus said that we must live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

I hope and pray that you have ears to hear.  Unless we significantly, dramatically, reduce the amount of world, that IS in our lives, by Asking, Seeking, and Knocking, then listening and obeying what we hear from the Spirit, letting that transform us by renewing our mind, letting that conform us to the likeness of the Son, this world is going to get a lot worse, a lot faster.  There are people out there that can be turned.  We as a Body are weak and this is how we will grow stronger, this is how the love of God is manifested through us to the world.

The Word of God is MUCH more than ink on the pages of our Bibles.

In the beginning was the Word

The Word was with God

The Word WAS God

All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.

In Him was life

and the life was the light of men.

God breathed into his nostrils     the breath of life

The worlds were framed by the Word of God

So shall my Word be, that comes out of my mouth, IT SHALL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH I PLEASE, AND IT WILL PROSPER IN THE THING WHERETO I SEND IT.  Mark 4:20

The Word of God endures forever; and this is the Word by which the gospel is preached unto you.

It was written on the hearts of the disciples, preached, then written down.

God was found of a nation that was NOT looking for Him, through the New Covenant, Jeremiah 31:33-34; 2nd Corinthians 3:3 is an example that states this; Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.  No books/scrolls were being read from, it was/is because of what the Spirit of truth was/is doing.

The same power, God’s spoken Word, the same thing that framed the world’s, the same thing that brought life to Adam, is the same thing that brought life back to your dead spirit.  THIS, is what sets true Christians/Christianity, apart from religion, God’s Words, specifically from His mouth, by His Spirit.

If you Know Jesus, it is ONLY because you heard the Word of God, that He testified of his Son, John 15:26.  God gave us proof, evidence, of His Son, this proof, evidence, is discernable ONLY when it comes from the Spirit, TO, our reborn spirit.  When a person preaches the gospel, and the hearer’s heart is not hardened, and is able to receive, the Spirit testifies of what is being “foolishly preached” by man, and if you can receive this testimony, that God has testified of his Son, it quickens your spirit, thus you are reborn.  James 1:18, Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth; this is by the grace of God.

Because of the traditions of men, religion, has made the Word of God of none effect.  The Greek word for tradition in Mark 7:13 is paradosis, which means transmission!  The Word of God has been made of none effect because man has relied on going to school to learn from past theologians and what they think, instead of realizing that Christ is on the inside of them waiting to teach every man everything needed to complete God’s will for their life.

Paul spoke this to the Galatians, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?  Here is another characteristic of the Word’s from the mouth of God that man cannot recreate.  The hearing of faith?  It’s not that hard to see, understand, except for the doctrine that has been instilled in you that faith is trust, faith enables trust, but it is not the same thing as trust in God.

Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by hearing the Word of God? Now faith is substance, (before birth) of things hoped for, evidence, (after death) of things not seen.  Hearing Word’s from the mouth of God are the same as seeing, holding evidence of something someone is proclaiming.

Paul also asked, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?  Paul was only able to do what he did because he did only what he heard the Spirit of Christ showed Him.  Jesus was our example.

Jesus was endued with the Holy Spirit, without measure, that is different from us.  Jesus said that he only did what He heard from the Father.

John 5:19, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

John 5:30, I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John 12:49, For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, AND what I should speak.

John 14:10, Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.  There are 3 that bear witness in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these 3 are one.

This is why Jesus said that we must live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, John 14:12, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Look at what Jesus told his disciples

John 16:12-15, I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.  However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.  He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.  All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you; because He goes to His Father…

He that believes on Me, as the scriptures has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living waterBut this He spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on Him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorifiedAnd now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was; In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God…

Mark 16:19-20, So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God (glorified).  And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word, with signs following. Amen.

Ephesians 1:20, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand (glorified) in the heavenly places,

          Wrought; energeō, to be active

What was made active, AFTER Christ was sat at the right hand of God?

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

How is one enlightened?  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: His knowledge, a.k.a. God’s Word, from His mouth.      1st Corinthians 1:30, But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

The word revelation in Ephesians 1:17 means disclosure, what the Holy Spirit, Spirit of truth, Spirit of wisdom, would “reveal” to you.  Stop thinking that revelation only means some sort of spiritual manifestation.

1st John 5:1-10, Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.  For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith (which comes by hearing Word’s from the mouth of God).  Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?  How is it that you believe in Jesus?  Read on.  Keep this in mind while you read.  In verses 6-8, the word’s record and witness mean, to be a witness.  In verses 9 and 10 the same words mean evidence given.  Remember faith is evidence of things not seen and it comes by hearing the Word’s of God.

Testimony Concerning the Son of God

6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.  7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.  8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.  9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.  10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

That is how and why you believe in a man that you have never seen, because you were able to receive the testimony that God gave of His Son, you have the evidence given, witness, Word of God on the inside of you.  Now look at how we are to learn everything else.

1st Corinthians 1:4-7, I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in everything ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as (in the same way) the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

James 1:18-22, Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Romans 1:16-17, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.  By every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Walking by faith and walking by the Spirit is saying the samething.  Faith cometh by hearing the Word of God and the Spirit brings the Word.

The Natural Man

As far as I know most Christians believe that the natural man, as spoken of in 1st Corinthians 2:14, is a man that is not saved.  This is not completely true.  The “natural”, man is the part of man whence things come naturally, automatic, the part of man that is not born again, but the part of man that exists before and after receiving salvation knowledge concerning Jesus Christ.  “But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

The Greek word that was used in 1st Cor. 2:14 for, “the natural”, was, G5591 – psuchikos (psoo-khee-kos’), and it means:  sensitive, that is, animate (in distinction on the one hand from G4152, which is the higher or renovated nature; and on the other from G5446, which is the lower or bestial nature): (instinctual)

G5590 – psuchē , psoo-khay’:  breath, that is, (by implication) spirit, abstractly or concretely (the animal sentient principle only;

G4152 – pneumatikos, phyoo-mat-ik-os’: non-carnal, that is, (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (daemoniacally) a spirit (concretely), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious:

G5446 – phusikos, foo-see-kos’ “physical”, that is, (by implication) instinctive: – natural.

God is talking about our 5 senses, sight, sound, smell, taste and touch.

The natural man consists of the 5 senses, this is how you learn.  For the first, possibly 20+ years of your life, you spend a very large amount of time in a classroom, LISTENING and SEEING, in tandem, a lot of information.  The information that is taken in through them, processed by the mind, and thus making this the way the knowledge base grows, a. k. a., the learning process, the way we “become smarter”.  This process affects the development of our personality, our will, our emotions, who we become.  Too back up the fact that “the natural man” is the 5 senses, the mind, etc…, back up to verses 8 and 9.  1st Corinthians 2:8-9, Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  They were not listening to God, through the one God sent, Jesus, or Himself, through the Spirit or Prophets, they were leaning on their own understanding.  Isaiah 64:4, For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.

Sight and sound and the ability to reason, “understand”, through what we see, hear, smell, taste, and touch, separates us from lower forms of animals, which live by “instinct”.  We have the ability to learn through the information that our 5 senses take in, automatically, and sight and sound are the 2 dominant senses of the majority of people.  This is the process by which we grow “smarter”, and smarter only means that some learn information easier, faster and retain it better, longer than others.  Some have issues with not being able to comprehend and process the information that they are being told, reading, seeing, etc., as well or as easy as others.  Certain parts of society has come up with a label for that kind of person, “stupid” or “dumb”.

As I said, there are two senses that are dominant over the others, in the way that they take in more information, data, than the others, they are sight and sound, through the eyes and the ears.  From birth they have been instrumental in your learning process, the growing of your knowledge base.  If you were blind and deaf, from birth, you would be greatly, disadvantaged in learning.  You would not have heard your parents, siblings, grandparents, etc., voices.  You would not know what your parents looked like.  You would not have been able to hear teachers teach you how to recognize letters, by sight, seeing them on cards, on blackboards.  You would not have learned to say those letters by hearing the teacher, or others, say, sound out, those letters.  You would not have learned to write those letters, thus learning how to form words, learning to speak the words, turn the words into sentences, which leads to communication, reading, which which expands, grows, your knowledge base by taking in more information by what you, SEE and HEAR.

You wouldn’t have learned to recognize numbers, thus learning about math, science, health, english, etc…  ALL by teachers, through what you saw with your eyes and heard with your ears, that came from the mouths of teachers, what they wrote on blackboards, what you read in textbooks, saw on overhead projectors, the world wide web, etc.  Through repetition and practice you retain what we have heard, seen, and experienced.

Our

likes

dislikes

the will

emotions

ALL of those and more are developed through what we experience through our 5 senses.

ALL, the information is processed by the mind, thus making our mind, carnal, and carnal, in this sense means, as pertaining to the flesh, what comes through the “natural man”.

Again, you have probably never even thought about this whole process.  It is completely automatic, natural, we don’t give this process a second thought, we don’t have to start it up, “make” it do it’s thing, “it” just happens.  But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God.  “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither has the eye seen …  Taking in the words with our eyes, with the knowledge we have retained and using some kind of special “formula” to discern the meaning of what you are reading, is leaning on your own understanding or the understanding of the “higher” educated?  Yet, because we have been told that our Bibles are the Word of God, we think all we need to do is read it, the same way we have every other book that we have read, why not, it is only natural.  YES, the words on the pages came from God, but the words on the pages are not with the complete understanding, context, and truth, as when they came/come, from His mouth, through His Holy Spirit, to us.  This is what is missing from the body today.

Whether you like it or not, believe it or not, most of us are leaning on our own understanding, a mentally put together understanding of God, and what He wants from us by reading words on the pages of a book, because it is natural, to do it this way, after all, this is how we become educated and we highly prize education.  Galatians 3:2-3, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?  If you

Turning the mind (our natural way of discernment) off, discarding a lot of other things that are done from the flesh, the carnal mind, the natural man, to be able to learn, to hear that still small voice is NOT NATURAL, but this is our new “nature”.  We have been told or come to the conclusion, for ourselves that God doesn’t “speak” to anyone any more (receive from Him), that’s why He gave us the “printed word”, “it, the word, explains itself”, NO, the Word/s, from His mouth ARE wisdom and knowledge.  No one has shown us what the “natural man” truely is and how much of our lives, our normal daily routines, come from this process, and that the natural man does not receive the things of God.  For to be carnally minded is death (to the spiritual mind).  Man has become very reliant, confident, even prideful in his own intelligence.  This is what we believe is necessary to have a “happier” life, more education, means a better life, NOT, a title has been put on this way of life to make it appealing, The American Dream.

For 13 of our first 18 years we are in school developing, to a very high degree of reliability, the very thing that cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, the one thing that is in opposition to what God has told us He has given us to guide us into all truth, His Spirit.  Galatians 5:17, For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: (they are both active in the same body) and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  Are you getting it, do you understand?

Because God has limited Himself in our lives, doesn’t force Himself in our lives, this is of His own will, He needs us to cooperate with Him, to learn from Him, through His Spirit and our spirit, what is and is not available to us, now, in this life, to continue, the ministry/Word of reconciliation.  He didn’t just free all the Hebrews from slavery, Moses had to be obedient, do and say what God told Him to do and say; and when Moses obeyed, it allowed God to work.  It is the same with every other person in the bible.  The only thing He has done without us is creation, “God said”, Genesis 1:1-31.  We are doing Christianity on our own, in our own way, “leaning on our own understanding”, and,  All we, like sheep, have gone astray, we have turned, every one of us, to his own way, the carnal mind, the flesh, the natural man.  This is why we as a body of Christ cannot ALL speak the same things, we are not of the same mind, we are not all of the same judgment.

Pay very close attention to these verses, 1st Corinthians 2:6-8,  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  (Hear this and understand), But, as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  Paul is saying this because of what the Hebrews had done, used their eyes, ears, and their mentally put together understanding, to write down and teach each others what they thought they ought to be doing and how to do it, 600+ rules based off of, 10 (written) commandments, thus following the traditions and doctrines of men, not listening to the still small voice itself, or the words of the one’s that had received a word from the Lord and passed His word on, it usually was not received, because it was spiritually discerned.  They could not hear, the word. John 8:37, 43.

The bible is Holy scripture, that which is written down.

The Word of God, Hebrews 4:12, is what was spoken/inspired by God’s Spirit, into men, written on their hearts, spoken by these men, and then written down at a later time and date.  For the words on the pages in the bible, scripture, to become, “alive and powerful” in us, the Holy Spirit needs to confirm, affirm, corroborate, verify, give you CORRECT understanding of, what you are reading or hearing.

For the Holy Spirit to confirm, affirm, establish, etc, what you are reading you must, Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  Ask, Seek, and Knock.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  Ask, Seek, and Knock.

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.  Ask, Seek, and Knock.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  Ask, Seek, and Knock.

1st Corinthians 1:19,  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

sunetos

soon-et’-os

From G4920; mentally put (or putting) together, that is, sagacious: – prudent.

The following is what it is going to take to bring the presence of the Lord to this earth, so that Matthew 16 15:18 and John 14:12 will come to pass again.

After coming to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, that He is the Savior of the world, and by, coming to the knowledge of, I purposefully mean to say, after it was shown, given to you, that He is, the Son of God, there is a small matter that needs to be dealt with, a small requirement that needs to be met in order to become a disciple of Christ, it is mentioned 7 times in 4 epistles.

Matthew 10:36-39, And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:24-26, Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Mark 8:34-37, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.  For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?  Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  Christ was speaking of gaining the whole world, what about the very small piece we have been programed to and are so frantically and stubbornly working to hold on to?  Commit yourself to God, His ways, and your plans will succeed, because then they will be His plans.

Luke 9:23, And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.  For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

Luke 14:27, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.  And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:33, So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

John 12:24-26, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.  He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: (smack dab in the middle of the will of God) if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Matthew 7:21-23, Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.           I am in no way trying to make you think that you are not saved, but if this gets you to go deeper, seek more guidance, learn of greater things, to have and know everything that God wants, YOU, to have and Know to complete your part of His will for your life in the continuance for the “Word of reconciliation”, then so be it.

THE Word/s of God

In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word WAS God! They ARE ONE.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. In the Words of God was life and that life was the light of men. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; God spoke, life, into Adam, God put a small piece of himself (the Word was God) into Adam, Gods intended design, will, for ALL mankind.

I think people think that God actually spoke audible words to Adam, words with a decibel level. I think God has not changed His ways, I believe that Gods “voice”, is and always has been His Spirit. The Spirit, takes from God and carries what He hears, words of God, to those who can receive them. This is what Jesus told His disciples in John 16:12-15.

But satan came and broke that bond, that connection, His wisdom and knowledge, that God ordained, But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory (our glory, the light of men, which is His Word): The Greek word for “ordained”, here in 1st Corinthians 2:7 is, proorizō , and it means, to limit, in advance.

1st Corinthians 13:9, For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. The Greek word for part is moros, and it means, (to get as a section or allotment); a division or share;

1st Corinthians 13:12, For now we see through a glass, darkly (obscurely, in part); but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

1st Corinthians 13:10, But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. That which is perfect refers to the second coming of Christ.

You see, In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God, everything that was made, was made by Him, including man, the Word was life, and THAT life was the light of men. He whom God sent speaks the Words of God, John 3:34. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise; John 5:19.

For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. John 12:49-50.

Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:10. The Word/s of God are what framed the worlds, Hebrews 11:3. The Words of God, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart; Hebrews 4:12. Because of who the Words come from, is WHY they are quick and powerful, in Him, the Word, is life, and that life is the light of men.

Jesus said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father; John 14:12. John 7:38-39, He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) This is why the disciples were told to tarry, that they would be endued with power from on high, God’s wisdom and knowledge, which comes from His Word, from His mouth.

You must understand that scripture, memorized, is not the same thing. Paul told Timothy, 2nd Timothy 3:14-15, But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Faith cometh by… hearing the Word of God, not using your mind to memorize scripture. The Word is what instructs, rebukes, the Word is good for correction, reproof, and instruction in righteousness.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith (from a Word to the next Word, from the mouth of God): as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Romans 1:16-18.

In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, THE WORD WAS GOD, through Him, the Word, were ALL things made, in Him, the Word, was LIFE, and that life was the light of ALL men, for God breathed into his nostrils, the breath of life, His Word. Then there was the fall, man no longer having the light (God’s Word) IN them anymore, man going his way, being drawn away and enticed, following the wants and desires of his carnal mind/flesh.

Then the Word became flesh, and it pleased God to bruise Him, for our sakes, so that we might be redeemed to our creator. Once Christ had finished His assignment on earth, He said to His Father, among many things, “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” Before the world was, was the Word, it was with God, it WAS God, ALL things were made by Him, in Him was life and that life was the light of men. John 6:63, It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

If you have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, a Word from God concerning his Son, your flesh has profited you nothing in knowing, hearing. You have heard because your heart was not hardened, you received NEW life, your light has been restored. You are now able to hear what the Holy Spirit has been told to show you, this must include reproof, correction, instruction in righteousness; The thoughts of God can now be your thoughts, we can now Know the Ways of God because He has said that HE, would write them on our hearts and in our inward parts, HE would do it, if we have ears to hear, IF the cares and worries of this world do not choke out the Word.

Mark 4:14-32,  The sower soweth the word.  And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.  And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.  And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred
A Lamp Under a Basket
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.  And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.  For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath

The Parable of the Seed Growing
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.  For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come
The Parable of the Mustard Seed And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?  It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, if you have a Word from the mouth of God as small as a grain of mustard seed, you can say to this fig tree…;

Isaiah 55:11, So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. This is why Jesus said that we must live by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God, (literally).

I pray that God has opened the eyes of your understanding to see what it is that He has given you, and that scripture has it’s place in our lives, but it, the book, is not the go to source for us, because He has restored His original Way to us, through the death, burial and resurrection of his Son, and made active toward us who believe on his Son.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, all of these are/is the Word of God, in Him is life, the Word is truth, Jesus is how we begin to HEAR the mystery of the Kingdom of God, His Word. So then, faith cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God.

Galatians 3:2-3 & 5, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh (the leaning on your own understanding, the understanding of others, while you study scripture, THEOLOGY)? He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

God has given us the Spirit to Know everything that He has given us, pertaining to life and godliness, and the Spirit brings to us what the Father/Son tells Him.

1st John 2:20, But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.  1st John 2:27, But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you (because God said He would, Jeremiah 31:33-34): but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The Word of God framed the worlds, the Word of God is quick and powerful, it is life and that life is the light of men, it comes from the mouth of God, the Word is substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen, the Word is what instructs us in righteousness, the Word is spiritually discerned, the Word, when it comes from above, from the mouth of God, is first pure, peaceable, then gentle, easy to be intreated, the Word is what conforms us to the likeness of the Son, by the renewing of our minds, from being carnal-pertaining to the flesh, to being mindful of the things of the Spirit, a.k.a. being spiritually minded.

Mark 8:35, For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

Ask, Seek and Knock, then be patient and wait on a Word from God. Listen, while you wait, for a prompting to hear, or a prompting to read a specific passage of scripture. The door of faith will be opened to you (reference to Acts 14:27). Remember, faith cometh by hearing the/a Word from God.

The “Way”

Jesus said He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life; NO ONE, comes to the Father, but by ME; John 14:6. He is IN us, those that believe, Know. He is the Word of God; Revelations 19:13. In Him is life, and the life is the light of men; John 1:4.

If you believe, it is because you have received the spiritually discerned, distinguished testimony that God has freely given to all men, concerning his Son. You had “ears to hear”, you received a “word” from God, through the Holy Spirit, you heard the Word, that which endures forever, that which will prosper in the thing, whereto I sent it, It shall not come back void.

This “way”, is very specific, if you are indeed born again, it is not because you simply chose to believe, it is because you believe the Word of the gospel, something spiritually understood, not just reasoned upon words from the mouth of men. If someone has shared the gospel with you, and you were able to receive, had ears to hear, the testimony/corroboration/assurance from the Holy Spirit, that comes along with the “witness of men”, then the witness of God (testimony of the Spirit) is greater, and THAT is why you believe! Not because you are intelligent enough; My words, they are spirit and they are life, it is the spirit that quickens, YOUR FLESH PROFITS YOU NOTHING.

John 15:26, But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me:

In his letter to the Galatians Paul said this, Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? This is why there is NO strength in the Body, God cannot move through the Body because we are trying to make our selves perfect through the understanding that comes through our intelligence. This is why John 14:12 is NOT being accomplished. It is why “signs” do not follow them that believe, because we are listening to the theology of men, rather than EVERY Word from the mouth of God, Matthew 4:4.

Jesus didn’t mean that we should study every verse in scripture, He literally meant that we should Ask, Seek, and Knock, for every piece of guidance and truth from Him. HE, would write his laws in our inward parts, on our hearts, this is His promise, the New covenant, to ALL believers.

1st Corinthians 1:4-7,

Co 1:4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
1Co 1:5  That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
1Co 1:6  Even as (in the same way) the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: (1st John 5:6-10) the testimony was “revealed”, unto you.
1Co 1:7  So that we come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

1st John 5:6-10, This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that bears witness (here, the Greek Word for witness, martureo, means to be a witness) because the Spirit is truth.
1Jn 5:7  For there are three that bear record (martureo) in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1Jn 5:8  And there are three that bear witness (martureo) in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
1Jn 5:9  If we receive the witness (here, the Greek word is marturia, meaning, evidence given) of men, the witness (marturia) of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
1Jn 5:10  He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness (marturia) in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record (marturia) that God gave of his Son. This is “why”, you believe, God gave the Holy Spirit to testify of his Son, the testimony IS of/by/from God, therefore it is his Word/s, from his mouth.

The testimony is from the eye witness, the testimony is evidence, of things not seen, sound familiar? F A I T H! This is what faith really is, this is what faith really does, if you have ears to hear. Romans 10:17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The definition that most of, if not ALL believers have of faith, is that faith is just trusting in God, and that is detrimental to the body of Christ. It puts ALL the action back on God, and we are told to Ask, Seek, and Knock on the door of faith, and it shall be opened; (Acts 14:27).

When the Holy Spirit reveals, Ephesians 1:17-20, That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know: what is the hope of his calling, and (that you may Know, hear it from his mouth) what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19  And (hear it from his mouth) what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20  Which he wrought (made active) in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Why did God make these things active IN Christ; AFTER God had raised him from the grave and seated Him in heaven? Because Christ is IN us, He is the Word, He is the life that was breathed into the nostrils of Adam, He has been restored unto us that have been redeemed. The reason we don’t hear is NOT because God has changed his Way/s, Not because it was only for the Apostolic age, but because there is too many things, ways of this world, traditions (transmissions) of men, derived of his understanding of what is written, we are NOT, losing our lives for the sake of Christ and the Word of the gospel, therefore we are NOT finding it.

What about the time between when that moment when we are born again, and when our bodies cease to go on, is there no power, miracles, signs or wonders to show the ones who would hear and understand, see and perceive? We, the Christ followers, are to Know what is available, because we have heard it from the mouth of God. We are supposed to be a body that is of ONE spiritual mind, ALL speaking the same things. Christ meant that we were supposed to live, walk, obey, by every Word that came from the mouth of God, this IS the ability that Christ has restored, and it started by hearing the faith, evidence, that was ministered to you by the one that had the evidence given, in them.

1st John 2:20, But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

1st John 2:27, But the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that any man teach you (Jeremiah 31:33-34). But as His anointing has taught you, concerning all things, and is true and no lie, and as He has taught you, you WILL abide in Him;

because that is what the true Word does, is, WHEN, it comes from God’s mouth.

It is the proclivity of man, when he reads, to lean on his own intelligence, reasoning, prudence, to understand what he is reading.

This is called the “Natural Man”. to be continued.

Seek God, place all of your ways, understandings, your entire life, before Him, and ask Him to show you what stands in the way of you hearing Him, thus Knowing what His will is for your life, His wisdom is first pure, peaceable, then gentle, easy to be intreated (which means, good for persuasion);… The Greek word for faith, in 240+ verses in the KJV, is pistis, and it means persuasion. Think about these things as they pertain to hearing the Word/s of God, Faith, evidence, comes by hearing

PERSUASION: The act of persuading; the act of influencing the mind by arguments or reasons offered, or by any thing that moves the mind or passions, or inclines the will to a determination.

TESTIMONY: A solemn declaration or affirmation made for the purpose of establishing or proving some fact. (This is what the Holy Spirit has been given to us for, to declare the truth to us of ALL that has been freely given to us by God.) Such affirmation in judicial proceedings, may be verbal or written, but must be under oath. Testimony differs from evidence; testimony is the declaration of a witness (what the Holy Spirit is declaring), and evidence (faith) is the effect of that declaration on the mind, or the degree of light which it affords (this is what the Word does).

The Holy Spirit is our go between, Father, Word, Holy Ghost, the three that bear witness in heaven, they are ONE, and the Holy Spirit is the one that bears witness on the earth, in true believers. BUT, we are not listening, because we are going our OWN way, not the Way, God has ordained.

Scripture came from the Word being heard, then written down. Everything that is written, Holy Scripture, came from the mouth of God, first, then written. The Word of God is alive and powerful, what comes from His mouth endures forever, what comes from His mouth is evidence of things, even though you have never seen Him.

FAITH=TRUST? NOT

I want to pose a question to you? This may be something that has not hit you yet. Do you see that there is a distinct difference between scripture and the Word of God? At least to the point that scripture in and by itself does not have the power that the Word of God does. I know scripture came from that which was spoken and/or inspired by God, but when it was spoken/inspired by God, when it came from His mouth, is when it is alive, powerful, evidential, that is when it shall proper in the thing where to I send it? Isaiah 55:11.

The narrative that we have that faith is trusting in God, a blind trust with nothing other than something to read, because God doesn’t do the things that He did with the Apostles, well, that is the traditions (transmission) of men, because they didn’t know what the Word really was, how it worked. They thought, and still do think, that scripture is the Word of God. It DID come from the mouth of God, everything in scripture is true, but you need faith, Hebrews 11:1 faith, which comes by the hearing of the Word of God, to know the truth of what is given to us and what is not, to know the absolute truth about anything in our Bibles.

2nd Timothy 3:16 says, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Before you start contradicting me, let’s back up to 14 and 15. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Faith comes by …? Here is a clear differentiation of scripture and the Word of God.

2nd Timothy 3:16-17 says, (only through faith, which cometh by the hearing of the Word of God) …is it profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Romans 1:16-17, For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Saying the just shall live by faith, is the same as what Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, …Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God; because faith is not just trusting God, it is receiving evidence, assurance, proof of…

Because of the graciousness of God he gave us this evidence, of His Son, so that we could believe. Romans 4:16, Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, faith is NOT of us. Ephesians 4:5, …there is one faith

Romans 11:19-20, Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith, so be not highminded, but fear:

Romans 12:3, For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Faith, Godly evidence, is a gift. Ephesians 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Philippians 1:29, For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; Quiet yourself, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. Acts 14:27, And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles. Faith is NOT what you have been taught, it is NOT of us, it is an inseparable part of that which comes from the mouth of God, through what the Holy Spirit reveals unto us.

What have you done? pt2

In case you didn’t understand what I was saying about the breath of life that was breathed into the nostrils of Adam, God spoke and man became a living soul, this is the same process as by which He created the universe and EVERYTHING in it. Hebrews 11:3, Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God,… (Genesis 1:1-31).

This is what His Word does. Jesus spoke the words of His Father, and it changed those that could “hear” it. You see, there was the audible speech, with a decibel level. Then there was the Mystery of the Kingdom of God, His in audible Word, that which has no decibel level, but yet, “the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” John 6:63, It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits you nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life; and yet some could not hear that Word.

The “foolishness of preaching” in 1st Corinthians 1:21, is that which is audible, has a decibel level. The witness of men in 1st John 5:9, is that which is audible, it has a decibel level. But the Holy Spirit is searching the hearts of men to see whom He can testify to, and His testimony confirms, affirms, verifies, corroborates, gives credence to, what is being audibly spoken, if that which is audibly spoken is the work of the Spirit of truth/wisdom. THIS WAY OF GOD, TO TEACH US, HAS NOT CHANGED, IT WAS NOT ONLY FOR THE APOSTLES. It is for ALL those that believe on Jesus Christ. In fact, this is how you believe in Jesus Christ.

Look at some examples of those who could not hear the Word, John 8:37, I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. John 8:43, Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. John 8:45-47, And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.  Which of you convinces me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?  He that is of God hears God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

There is a definite difference between our speech, specifically that which comes by our own understanding/prudence. 1st Corinthians 2:1-5, And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.  And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

1st Thessalonians 2:13,  For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. See the separation that they are making between their speech and the Word of God?

This is the way God has always intended it to be, it’s just that after the fall and before Christ’s being seated in heaven, the Holy Spirit was “with” them. NOW, if you are indeed born again, God has brought you to repentance and you have received the testimony that God gave of his Son and you believe, then you have the Word engrafted IN YOU, the light has been restored, your spirit is renewed and holy. It is the flesh that must be done away with by hearing the Word of God.

Mark 4:9-20,  And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.  And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.  And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?  The sower soweth the word.  And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.  And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.  And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Look at what God told Jeremiah, Jeremiah 31:33-34, But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, “I” will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

God was found of a Nation that sought Him not, they didn’t have Bibles to read from, nor did the Apostles read from one. 2nd Corinthians 3:1-11, Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you?  You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.  And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit giveth life.  But if the ministration of death, written and engraved in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?  For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in gloryFor even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excells.  For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remains is glorious. 1st Peter 1:25, But the Word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the Word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Those Nations that sought not after God, believed because of what God gave them to believe, the Holy Spirit wrote the truth on the hearts of those that could hear the mystery of the Kingdom of God. God’s Word, besides being alive and powerful, it is also evidential, it is, in itself, evidence of things not seen, FAITH! This is another tradition (the Greek word here means transmission) of men, that makes the Word of God of none effect. Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God. Galatians3:2, This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Which comes by the hearing of the Word of God.  How does one receive the Spirit? By hearing and believing the Word of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ, which it pleased God to do by the foolishness of preaching. Galatians 3:5, He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

He that ministers the Spirit, and works miracles among them, in this case Paul, how does he do it, by having the law in him, or by the hearing of faith, evidence/proof of things not seen, which comes by the hearing of the Word of God? Faith is NOT what you believe it to be.

What have you done?

When Adam was created, one of the things God told him was not to eat of the tree in the midst of the garden, the tree of knowledge of good and evil. There is no mention of God telling Eve this, though it shows in her conversation with the devil that she knew not to eat or even touch the tree lest they die. It also says in the New Testament that “Adam was not deceived but the woman being deceived was in transgression.” I believe that Adam was the left to “explain the rules”, so to speak.

Because just hearing something from God is more powerful than most realize. I believe that Adam being the one to tell Eve that they weren’t supposed to eat of the tree in the middle of the garden, Eve didn’t have a “Word” from God, and the devil, previous angel of God, he knew that his chances of deceiving her were far greater than engaging with Adam.

What I want to look at is the conversation,

Gen 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. Gen 3:1  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Gen 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Gen 3:7  And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Gen 3:8  And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
Gen 3:9  And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
Gen 3:10  And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
Gen 3:11  And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

Before this happened, there was no concept of being naked, that is just how they were, it wasn’t even a thing, they didn’t know they were naked, until they ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL.

First, the devil got her to engage with him by mentioning the tree and putting a slight twist on what God said. She takes the opportunity to “correct” him (sorry, couldn’t resist) and say, he didn’t say we cannot eat of any tree in the garden, but, that we could not eat or even touch the tree in the middle of the garden or we would die. Immediately the devil says, you won’t really die, God just know that when you do eat of the tree your eyes will be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing both good and evil.

First, he is speaking of a physical death, dropping dead on the spot, that’s what they are thinking. You shall not surely die, God just knows… Second, he baits her with wisdom, becoming as wise as God. You will know both good and evil, the devil is talking about know about these things, knowing the difference between. What really happened was, Eve became intimate with evil, by the justification of her carnal lusts.

James 1:14-15, But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

In the beginning was the Word, the Word was God,… ALL things were made by Him,… In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; The Word of God is the breath of life, it is the life of men. God spoke/breathed life into the nostrils of the man. It is the Spirit that quickens, your flesh profits you nothing; the words I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. He that God has sent speaks the words of God.

Eve was “drawn away” from being spiritually minded, this is the “image” that they were made in. When the woman saw that the tree was good for food (lust of the flesh), and that it was pleasant to the eyes (lust of the eyes), and that it was a tree desired to make one wise (pride of life), he took of the fruit, and the rest is history. She justified doing what she knew she was not supposed, with, well, it’s is pretty, it does have some nice fruit on it, and if I do eat it I will have the wisdom of God. She was drawn away from her God created state of being, to going her own way, following the lusts of her own mind, of the flesh, her carnal mind, and Adam followed.

This is the thing that every human being was born into having to follow from that point on, their carnal minds/flesh, we call it sin, but sin is an action of the flesh, started in the mind as a thought. The spirit had been disconnected, thus the light of men no longer shown bright. BUT, this is what Jesus was sent for, to renew the spirit in the people that God knew would/could hear the spiritually discerned Words of God.

They heard the voice of the LORD walking in the garden, not in themselves any longer. Something was different, their eyes had been opened, they understood that they were naked. They hid themselves from the presence of the LORD. Adam, where are you? I heard your voice and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid myself. Who told you that you were naked?

No one told them, because they had eaten of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL, their eyes were opened immediately. They had been intimate with, took part in evil, by following their own desires/ lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life, none of which are of God, but of this world. Right now there are WAY TO MANY things, policies, traditions, ways of men, that are not of God, but we think they are ok, good even, but they draw us away as well because they appeal to the flesh (not just a lust) and carnal mind and we need to get back to living as disciples of Christ.

God’s people?

There are a couple of prophecies out there that the Holy Spirit has let me know are authentic. Those people are Mark Taylor (www.sordrescue.com) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nm66yO-g9c and Wanda Alger (www.wandaalger.me) https://wandaalger.me/2019/02/04/a-word-to-the-nation-from-heavens-court/ They both have a prophecy that deals with the church not being what God intended. When I read the prophecies I can see how the things the Holy Spirit has revealed to me, to teach you, will help the Body of Christ get back on the Narrow Way, hence the tag line of my site, “Straightening the Way”. The teachings will allow the Spirit of God to remain in us, not just visit. If we become His people, He will begin to protect this land and drive our enemies out.

Our commitment to God is not even close to being what it should be. Our focus is mostly on living and fulfilling our agenda’s, living in a way that we think is ok, good enough in our eyes. Well, Jesus said, For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Are any of us going to EVER gain the whole world? NO. So how does what you say is yours, what you are trying to keep, attain, strive toward, compare to gaining the whole world? Anything offered as an example from anyone is less than the whole world. That, “losing your life” statement, is in scripture 6 times. Matthew 10:39 & 16:25, Mark 8:35 (the scripture quoted above), Luke 9:24 & 17:33 and John 12:25-26.

Look at what Christ says in Matthew 10:37-38, He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and follow after me, is not worthy of me. This is a very STRONG statement. It does not mean that you are to just walk away from everyone and everything, you are to follow Christ, but you cannot follow Him if you can’t hear Him.

The #1 thing that is standing in the way is our own heart. First and foremost one must be saved, born again, you must have a renewed spirit, so that you are able to hear. #2, your motives must be pure, sincere, humility is a key factor also, and a contrite heart doesn’t hurt. But you DO NOT need to be perfect in your own eyes, nor His. He will make changes in you if you seek them out. This is what I prayed, Father God, help me to see the things that keep me from hearing your voice, help me to change, and to become the person YOU need me to be.

You are taking your own ideas and conceptions of what you need to do or not do out of the picture and asking Him, seeking His work in you. The wisdom that is from above is first pure, peaceable, then gentle, easy to be intreated (this means good for persuading, James 3:17)… I say this because when He shows you something about yourself, it is not condemning, it is peaceable and gentle, especially if you are seeking it, you WILL know when the Holy Spirit has shown you something like this about yourself. It is part of the “conforming us to the likeness of the Son”.

God is not looking for the well educated or smartest people, He is looking for the most willing hearts. Love the Lord your God with ALL your soul, ALL your mind, ALL your strength, and ALL your heart, in case you don’t get it, this is EVERYTHING you are/have. Right where you are in life now, God needs you to become the person that He has ordained you to be within the Body of Christ, start dying to self, get rid of idolatrous things in your life, start serving the living God. I will be posting other blogs that teach what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me, that we have available to us, from God, through Christ, that are very powerful and will open the eyes of your understanding, and if you persevere, you will begin to experience Jesus like His Father intended. You will begin to see people, ALL people, even your enemies, through His eyes, if you allow Him to show you, and you follow. He will NOT make you follow, but He will be your guide, He will NOT make you change, but He will fortify/strengthen you to help you stay in the changes, but you will NOT be a puppet. God Bless, and begin the journey to help this Nation be what God intended.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from “their” wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
